The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Office of Civil Rights, Department of Education, define sexual harassment as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when:

-submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual's employment or academic standing,

-submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment decisions or academic decisions affecting such individual, or

-such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual's work or academic performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive educational or work environment.

The Oklahoma State University Department of Human Resources Training Department offers a workshop to all OSU employees titled: Sexual Harassment/Sexual Harassment Policy Workshop free of charge which qualifies for credit in a number of OSU Human Resource Training Certificate Programs such as:
Professional Development for Advanced Leadership Program or
Elective for Leadership Development Program or
Elective for Ambassador Program
Each member of the campus community is responsible for knowing OSU’s policy regarding sexual harassment and preventing it. It is our responsibility to ensure the work and academic environments are harassment-free. Become informed and learn how to identify and handle a bona fide sexual harassment situation. Participants will view a video on what constitutes unprofessional, unacceptable, or illegal behavior. This session will also address the revised Gender Discrimination and Sexual Harassment Policy and Title IX Grievance Procedure.
